Ronda Rousey Will ‘Be Back’ After Knockout Loss
There has been a ton of talk about Ronda Rousey leaving her current coach Edmond Tarverdyan, but could that mean she starts training with Floyd Mayweather?
“In order to be the best in the world, you definitely don’t ever get beat up like that in your prime, period”, Ali said of Rousey when TMZ caught up with her on Sunday. “Certain things you have to learn”.
“I think people can be pretty brutal”.
The rift ensued when the boxer claimed he did not know who the former bantamweight champion was.
Still reeling from her defeat to unseeded Holly Holm at UFC 193, Ronda Rousey was caught off guard once again by a couple of sucker punches from two unexpected heavyweights on Sunday. And Ronda Rousey, the first female to dominate MMA, is known for talking as tough as she fights. Everyone from celebrities to supporters had a response to Rousey’s loss, but true supporters just wanted to know if she was okay and what, if anything, is next for the fighter. Seeing her act like this is a bad look for her, and more importantly, the sport of mixed martial arts.
The retired and welterweight champion said he doesn’t think it’s cool how everyone is trolling her on social media.
“I want to fight when they give me the opportunity”, Holm told the paper. Just one of Rousey’s previous 12 opponents had made it past the first round. “It’s all about timing and inches”. A guy or girl is going to take a break or go away, or has an injury that they have to tend to, whatever the reasons are, and they’re a champion – you take the championship off of them.
In a post-game interview, Holm addressed her historic win. When you lose a loved one, that’s taking a loss. And I’m not sure who was in on it and who wasn’t but I know this much: the ref probably wasn’t in on it. Maybe he was I don’t know.
No word yet on if Rousey would actually take Mayweather up on his offer to help train her, but I’m going out on a limb by saying that she’ll politely decline. “Holly had 45 fights before and multiple world titles”.
