Dallas is first in country to get Dunkin’ Donuts delivery
“The ability to skip the line to order your favorite coffee, donut or sandwich any time of day, or to have Dunkin’ items delivered directly to you, are two things that our guests have been requesting for a few time”.
The test kicks off today, and will be available in 124 Dunkin Donuts stores in ME; visitors will be able to place an order before visiting via the company’s mobile app, then pick it up when they arrive. Everything is delivered in less than 45 minutes.
The stores current offering delivery are in Addison, Plano, Carrollton, Preston Hollow, Frisco, Richardson, and the store by the University of Texas at Dallas.
Echoing Starbucks’ (NASDAQ:SBUX) foray into mobile ordering, Dunkin’ Brands’ (NASDAQ:DNKN) Dunkin’ Donuts said it is testing its own mobile order service in Portland, Maine, available to users of its loyalty program.
DD Perks rewards program members with iOS smartphones in Portland can download the Dunkin’ Donuts On-the-Go Ordering app, which can be linked to their loyalty cards for payment and the accumulation of rewards points. “Speed is one of our brand differentiators”, says Scott Hudler, vice president of global consumer engagement, while acknowledging that “the morning space and the coffee space are incredibly crowded”, which is why speed really is a crucial element for success in this business. “We are excited to launch this new test, and we will continue to evaluate a possible national rollout in the future”.
