Israeli troops kill two Palestinians in clashes over home demolition
Israeli security forces have used excessive force and may have carried out summary executions against Palestinians amid a surge in violence since the start of October, United Nations experts said Monday.
The army says Palestinians opened fire at the forces who returned fire at the attackers.
“All Abbas had to do was lie and tell his people that Israel is planning to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque – something that more than half the Palestinian population believes – and then sit back and let young terrorists do the dirty work”.
Amid the unrest, Israel recently renewed a policy of demolishing homes belonging to Palestinians accused in deadly attacks. He said there would have been more Israeli deaths if not for Israel’s aggressive policies “to control the ground, go into the villages, demolish terrorists’ homes and take preventive action against the infrastructures of terrorism”. The motorist had stopped to give the Palestinian directions to a nearby spring.
If anyone can relate to what the people of Paris are experiencing at the moment, it is not Israelis but rather the people of south Beirut, Palestinian refugees in the Yarmouk camp of Damascus, Syrians, Iraqis and many more Muslims and Arabs who make up the majority of Islamic State’s victims.
Israeli soldiers forced residents to evacuate their homes in the camp before demolishing the top floor of an apartment belonging to Muhammad Abu Shahin, who allegedly killed an Israeli settler in June of this year.
In an interview with Ohad Hemo, a reporter for Channel 2 News, one of Mr. Abu Shaheen’s brothers described the killing of Mr. Gonen as a “heroic” act and said, “It lets us hold our heads high”.
Additionally, hundreds of Palestinians rioters hurled fire bombs, IEDs and rocks at the troops, who deployed riot dispersal means in order to disperse the mob. The army said the Israeli family was on its way to a Sabbath dinner at the time.
Those operations also sparked clashes in which nine Palestinians were wounded, two of them by live ammunition.
The Paris attacks happened just hours after a Palestinian terrorist murdered Rabbi Ya’akov Litman and his 18-year-old son, Netanel, in a shooting attack on their vehicle.
The funerals of the two Palestinians, expected to be held after midday prayers on Monday, coincide with a day of rage called for by various Palestinian factions and university student groups, during which Palestinian protesters were expected to march to numerous Israeli checkpoints throughout the West Bank.
The Israeli occupation has habitually terrorized Palestinian civilians, stolen their land and resources and demolished their homes; yet Netanyahu disingenuously claims self-defense while labeling any form of Palestinian reaction as “terrorism”.
