Deus Ex Mankind Divided Delayed
But then EA pushed back Catalyst and now, Square Enix has been forced to delay the new Deus Ex adventure.
“We are confident and proud of the game so far”, David Anfossi, head of Square Enix’s Eidos Montreal studio, which is developing the game, wrote on the Deus Ex site. We’ve seen it time and time and time again-a huge range of AAA games have taken part in this scheme, and it probably won’t end any time soon. The reason for the delay is to focus on quality, after testing revealed it was not meeting the standards set by the studio. Well, that busy February got less busy when Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst moved back to May, and it has just gotten even freer.
The news is more than a little surprising given the game’s now-cancelled pre-order bonus campaign. These included weapon packs, a digital artbook, an extra in-game mission and ultimately getting the game released four days early.
The game is the follow-up to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, released in August 2011 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, which was Eidos Montreal’s first developed title.
The original Deus Ex launched in mid-2000 with the most recent entry, the aforementioned Human Revolution, coming in 2011. The developer came to the decision after playing through the game as it presently exists.
