Cowboys may be backing off Hardy extension talk
Taylor is now the the second former National Football League player to come out and support the Cowboys giving Hardy a second chance along with former Cowboys linebacker Greg Ellis.
Not too many people are rushing to defend Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy, but that apparently doesn’t faze Lawrence Taylor.
In an interview with Daniel Popper of The NY Daily News, Taylor expressed his belief that Hardy deserves another chance, suggesting that he could have been getting a raw deal from the NFL.
After the game, Hardy declined to speak to reporters about his actions.
Actually, now could be the best time to do it. In March, only the Buccaneers showed interest in Hardy, but they insisted on a sit-down with him regarding the domestic violence allegations that ultimately resulted in a four-game suspension.
Hitzges went on to question Jones’ perceived control over head coach Jason Garrett. “The good news is we go forward”.
Hardy’s late arrival Thursday came a day after he briefly changed his Twitter profile claiming his innocence in a domestic violence incident in May 2014. Hardy originally was convicted of beating ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder, and the only reason the case was thrown out was because Holder disappeared on the prosecution after Hardy appealed. And it’s probably no coincidence that Jones softened his stance on the extension talk after photos published by Deadspin earlier this month showed Hardy’s ex-girlfriend bruised and injured. In addition, Hardy met with team officials after his initial news conference with the media in which he made references to coming out “guns blazing” and joked about Tom Brady’s wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen. In addition, the Cowboys are on a seven-game losing streak and seemingly out of playoff contention – it might be worth keeping as much cap space as possible going into the off-season. “We expect him to do the right thing”.
Quarterback Tony Romo is set to return from a fractured collarbone this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. “I’m disappointed. We had high expectations, to say the very least, for this year, so I’m disappointed for the people that count the most: our fans”. Look at how they look like they don’t give a damn on the field! That’s what radio host Norm Hitzges at Dallas’ The Ticket wondered in one of the best rants you’ll ever hear. “It takes a lot of across-the-board blame”.
