LSU Head Coach Les Miles May be in Trouble

When No. 17 LSU (7-2, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) travels to face No. 25 Ole Miss (7-3, 4-2) on Saturday, physical talent will obviously play a factor in deciding who wins.

At least two of LSU’s nine assistant football coaches and at least one of the school’s 14 assistant/associate athletic directors have told those close to them that LSU athletic director Joe Alleva wants to fire LSU football coach Les Miles unless he wins out this regular season. “That is what they do”.

Rabalais goes on to say that, in perhaps the most damning indication that Miles could be in trouble, “major boosters, big financial boosters of the program” are no longer congregated en masse in Miles’ corner. Ole Miss and Alabama – under this scenario – would be 5-1 in the West. And Ole Miss would win the West by virtue of its win over Alabama. Coach Hugh Freeze said Nkemdiche is questionable for Saturday’s contest. Arkansas got the machine rolling against LSU last week with 299 brutish yards and three touchdowns, averaging 7.5 yards per pop, for the third time in four games with over 200 yards, and the sixth time in the last eight games. Fournette got his with 91 yards on 19 carries against the Hogs. “We will. We will look at all that and try to fit it to our game plan”.

In order to succeed they will have to recruit well, fix the offense, recruit well, keep the defense playing at its high standard, recruit well, win in the SEC, and recruit well. What makes his game work at his best? “I think the ones that have been here have a good understanding of what it means, and we are educating the others”. “He throws the deep ball extremely well”. I do suspect, even with the disappointing way this “dream season” has played out, that Ole Miss will be able to muster up a few fight when LSU and Mississippi State come calling. Give a score and explain how it gets there.

Now the Rebels are preparing to begin their final two-game stretch against a team that likes to move the ball an entirely different way with one of the nation’s best players.

“We needed (the rest) with LSU and Mississippi State, the two rivalry games, we having coming up here”, Freeze said. “I fell in love with Ole Miss, the atmosphere and all that”.

Kelly has completed 237 of 361 passes for 3,224 yards, 23 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Just like this year’s game, the Tigers rolled into the national championship game undefeated and got stomped by the Tide. The Tiger are 10th in the league now at 24.3 points a game.

Ole Miss is the most overrated team and program in the SEC.

The Arkansas loss was particularly upsetting to Freeze as it included a freaky and fortunate lateral fumble by the Hogs and a facemask penalty on Rebel defensive end Marquis Haynes, who did not need the mask grab on a two-point conversion tackle that would have ended the game with Ole Miss ahead, 52-51.
