A forensic examination has confirmed that human remains found in forest of Raigad belong to Sheena Bora, say experts.
In total three tests were conducted by AIIMS forensic department to prove that the charred remains were of Sheena Bora, sources said.
The report added that the blood smaple of prime accused and Bora’s mother Indrani Mukerjea matched the protein extract from Bora’s bone. 3D imaging provided conclusive proof. The CBI, probing the sensational Sheena Bora murder case, is likely to file charge sheet against Indrani Mukerjea and two other accused by end of November. The police claim Ms Mukerjea, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver strangled Ms Bora, and then kept her body overnight at the home she shares with her husband, TV tycoon Peter Mukerjea, before driving it to Raigad the next morning where it was set on fire. The chargesheet will be filed in the court of a metropolitan magistrate in South Mumbai.
Indrani, a high-profile Mumbaikar was arrested along with her husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyam Rai in August days after the mortal remains of Sheena were found in the raigad forest. However, doctors at JJ hospital had later made it clear that she had not contracted dengue, as suspected.
Indrani was arrested on August 25 and was in police custody till September 7 when she was remanded to judicial custody after which she was lodged in the Byculla women’s jail. But, the probe by Inspector General (prisons) ruled out the possibility of drug overdose, poisoning or suicide bid.
On 6 October, she was discharged from the hospital and sent back to jail.
