TCU WR Doctson done for season
There is a lot of momentum presently on the side of OU football, and the Sooners must be darn careful not to squander it away by underestimating and looking past this week’s gridiron opponent.
Oklahoma was highly impressive in defeating a very good Baylor team last weekend. “I mean, TCU has had, from our view, really one significant test, and they lost that game to Oklahoma State”.
TCU’s season has taken sharp turn in the wrong direction, and things aren’t about to get any better.
If Doctson is unable to return for the team’s bowl game, which according to the latest bowl projections will be against USC in the Valero Alamo Bowl on January 2 in San Antonio, Texas, this ends his career as a TCU Horned Frog.
What’s worse for No. 18 TCU (9-1)?
CFP committee chairman Jeff Long said injuries to Doctson and Boykin played a part in the Horned Frogs’ drop in the polls, but a bigger reason was the lackluster effort against KU.
Patterson had announced Tuesday that Doctson was questionable and would see a specialist for his wrist.
He had a streak of six straight games with at least 100 yards and two touchdowns.
Docston is not the only key player for the Frogs who is injured at the moment.
Boykin, considered one of the early front-runners for the Heisman Trophy, suffered an ankle injury last week against Kansas and is listed as a game-time decision on Saturday for the matchup with No. 7 Oklahoma.
