In his opening statements, British Prime Minister David Cameron referred to Modi’s perspective and objective for transforming India.
The crowd chanted “Modi, Modi” through his 80-minute speech. The British Prime Minister was vocal about UK’s desire to build a strong partnership with India.

Nirmala Rajasingam, one of the protest organisers, said: “We have been protesting against the Modi government for a very long time because the matters of the Gujarat atrocities have not been settled yet”.
Friday evening he is set to address about 60,000 people from India’s expatriate community in London’s Wembley Stadium.
The two sides signed a civil nuclear pact and made a decision to collaborate in the field of defence and cyber security.
He said: “They see in prime minister Modi, especially after his tremendous election result past year, a man that is filled with hope and aspiration and somebody who is decisive”.
“As many as 18,000 villages need electricity”.
Britain has rolled out the red carpet for Modi, but the Indian premier’s arrival has also drawn protests. Numerous protestors were Sikhs, Kashmiris and Dalits.
