Honda launches 125cc Shine SP; targets 50% market share in 125cc segment
This 125 cc motorcycle is an improvement over Honda’s existing CB Shine. The latest one, 125cc CB Shine SP, was launched on Thursday at Rs. 59,900 for the self drum alloy, Rs. 62,400 for the self disc alloy and Rs. 64,400 for the Combi Brake system (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
The new 125cc Honda motorcycle, called CB Shine SP, is a premium offering from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) in the 125cc space. The new Shine will take on Hero’s Super Splendor and Glamour and Yamaha’s new Saluto The new range of CB Shine SP comes with a 5 speed gear box to enhance intra-city riding which delivers 15% reduction in vibration.
The bike is available in five colour options – black, geny grey metallic, atheletic blue metallic, pearl awesome white, and rebel red metallic.
Interestingly, while Honda has rolled out its fifteenth model, its fourteenth model the new Hornet 160R will be launched in mid-December though it was unveiled earlier. This new 125 cc bike from Honda has a bikini fairing, a nicely chiselled tank and multi-spoke alloy wheels.
“With urbane sharp looks and modern styling, the new CB Shine SP has been conceptualized to make the rider feel “Special” and add style and dynamism to commuter segment”. Drum brakes are available as standard, while the top-end variant comes with disc brakes for front tyres. The motorcycle shares its underpinnings with the current CB Shine. Both these models get a 5-speed gearbox while the Glamour and Saluto are equipped with a 4-speed transmission. The bike features a telescopic fork and the two spring loaded hydraulic type shock absorbers suspensions at the front and rear, respectively. “Though CB Shine enjoys 46 per cent market share, our plan is to further strengthen Honda’s leadership position in 125cc segment”, HMSI, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Y S Guleria said.
