Former Manchester United Player Bebe Compares His Style to Cristiano Ronaldo’s
The 25-year-old cost a reported £7million from Vitoria de Guimaraes, spent time on loan from United at Besiktas, Rio Ave and Pacos de Ferreira and is widely regarded as one of the worst signings in the Old Trafford outfit’s history.
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United’s interest in Ronaldo, the current Balon D’Or holder, is reportedly genuine and poses a threat to his six-year association with Los Blancos.
The former Portugal U21 global has claimed it would be different if he had a second chance to play at a major club, and even compared himself to compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bebe had a disastrous spell at Old Trafford after signing in 2010, but the Portuguese believes his game still resembles that of the Real Madrid talisman.
Bebe came at the recommendation of the then much lesser-known Jorge Mendes, and made just seven appearances in all competitions for the club before leaving in 2014.
Bebe’s move to United five years ago was a shock give his lack of experience at the top level and he failed to cope with the demands that were thrust upon him.
“It all happened very quickly, a total surprise”, he added. One day I was training and suddenly I was told to go, to sign a five-year contract.
He is now on loan (again) at La Liga oufit Rayo Vallecano.
“[Didier] Drogba, but also Cristiano because he’s Portuguese”. When I arrived I was there with the best in the world. I was breathing deep the first week but I got used to it. I absorbed where I was.
“I have the same way of running, and the same shooting style, he’s definitely a favourite”.
