Obama tweetstorms at GOP: Turning away refugees ‘would betray our deepest values’
ISIS/ISIL/DAESH or whatever the regime is now calling them (everything BUT radical Islamists), has taken credit for another major attack outside their “containment” according to our fearless and clueless leader. The U.S. and to a lesser extent Britain, is a very open society and does not treat expressions of religious symbols or individual religious convections such as “Hijab” as illegal or a threat the way it is treated in France.
But what WILL the response be?
“As ISIS continues to wage a war based on their ideology of hate and brutality, I take heart in the reaction of the people of Paris”. We know that ISIS would like to attack the US.
ISIS metastasized while President Obama went about his merry way deflating the USA military and treating it like a liberal social experiment.
For now, most Democrats stand with Obama in his denial.
Well France was already at war, don’t forget.
French President Francois Hollande will meet with President Barack Obama at the White House next week, and he has plans to sit down with Russian President Vladimir Putin before the end of this week.
NY Post columnist Michael Goodwin wrote that the President must lead or resign but don’t hold your breath.
So what should be done? So bombing them from the air, supporting Kurdish forces or Syrian and Iraqi forces to fight ISIS, taking territory from them, keeping their military engaged is the right strategy.
“I think we could do this again if we had North Atlantic Treaty Organisation backing and if France invokes Article 5”, he adds. Would Obama be in it to win it? He appears to have relaxed the restrictive rules for air strikes. France should invoke the mutual defense clause of the European Union and then Article 5 of the NATO treaty.
Meaning, the time has come for “The Coalition” to coordinate their airstrikes into massive joint attacks to combat ISIS.
“Unfortunately, the actions of the Administration have not matched that rhetoric”, Dent said.
The think tank studied the cases of 474 individuals who have traveled to fight with ISIS from 25 different Western countries, a portion of the estimated 4,500 fighters who have gone to fight in Iraq and Syria. Governors said they would not allow Syrian refugees in their states. Let the Turks, Jordanians, Saudis, Kuwaitis and other Islamic states take in and care for their own. Mercy is an important component of Islam as well as Christianity.
I think, contrary to what everyone says, the campaign that has been going on in Iraq and Syria has not been altogether unsuccessful… Should the president acknowledge that his goal of extricating the USA from warfare is impossible given the lethal threat?
Finally, the U.S and the rest of the west should criminally profile these suspects. In a press conference from the G20 Summit in Turkey, Obama spoke about ISIS, spending more time defending Islam than championing America. The French have joined the attacks in Syria, there was a retaliation.
“We are coming for you with bombs and rifles, wait for us”, shouted one ISIS propagandist.
Over the last few weeks, Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, or ISIS, has claimed responsibility for suicide attacks in Beruit, the downing of a Russian plane over Egypt and most recently, coordinated deadly attacks in Paris.
President Obama said he saw little reason to change his current approach, which relies on a combination of airstrikes, training of local anti-ISIS forces and cutting off the group’s financing and an aversion to sending ground troops. The overblown fears of the threat Syrian refugees may pose plays into the narrative ISIS pushes as it seeks to impose a caliphate on the Middle East and the world.
In a more rational climate, this would be a moment for presidential candidates with serious foreign policy chops to shine and for candidates such as Donald Trump and Ben Carson to recede. It’s not a massive warm front or arctic freeze that’s beheading people.
In recent statements, Obama said that he is not interested in American leadership or winning. At the last Dem debate, Hillary Rodham Clinton indicated that ISIS must be defeated but America should not lead the fight. After all, Obama told ABC last week that ISIS is shrinking.
