Justin Timberlake may go country on his next album, says Timbaland
Justin Timberlake doesn’t mind paparazzi, as long as they aren’t lazy. “We ARE country”, he replied.
So it seems likely that the former boy-bander and current massively-popular pop star would do a country album, especially since a shortened version of his “Drink You Away” is sitting on the desks of country radio bosses everywhere right now.
It was a pretty big moment that night; the new rendition of the song has even become his first official country single, and is being played on country radio stations, according to Rolling Stone. “We always wanted to do country music – we thought a few of them lyrics were country”.
Or, so says Timbaland, who told TMZ that there’s a chance he and JT will tap into a country sound for their next collaboration. I gotta tap into country, I’m already posted up in Nashville.
But does that mean more Timberlake country tunes?
“I gave you guys shots before I walked in, and if you’re too lazy – if you’re too lazy – to be the paparazzi that gets the shots when I go, well, that’s on you!” said Timberlake, laying down the law.
Following further questioning about whether or not he and Timberlake are actually going to get a country music record off the ground, Timbo responded: “You know what – now that you put it out there? I don’t discriminate no genres”. “I learn it and I study it and I love it”.
