Police Confirm 5 Killed in Kano Twin Bomb Blasts
Speaking to a SaharaReporters correspondent, a spokesperson for Kano state Police command, confirmed that the twin bomb attacks on the GSM Market in Kano City left 15 dead and 53 wounded.
He reassured Nigerians that his administration was determined to wipe out Boko Haram and bring perpetrators of the heinous crime to justice.
A witness said he counted at least 20 corpses being moved from the scene of the blasts while the injured were taken to the hospital.
No-one has said they are responsible for the attack but militant Islamist group Boko Haram has previously attacked Kano.
According to him, the incident happened when a Sharon Space Wagon vehicle arrived at the market with six passengers and dropped two females at the market.
While an elderly suicide bomber ferried the second device right into the centre of the market.
He called on residents to be extra careful and report any suspected character or movement to security agents for prompt response.
He says millions of Naira is believed to have been lost at farm centre GSM market in Kano, as a result of the attack.
