Vehicle News / 2016 Chevrolet Cruze Arrives at Dealerships Next Spring With
Slated to reach U.S. dealerships during the spring of next year, the all new generation 2016 Cruze can be had starting at $17,495. With the announcement of the official pricing, General Motors is clearly looking to make the small Chevy the top dog in the very popular segment. Add a six-speed automatic gearbox to the LS, and the price jumps to $19,995. The automatic is standard on the LT and Premier. It claims to be larger, lighter and roomier than the 2015 model, and with the 1.4L turbo engine, it’s safe to say that it’ll be faster too.
All grades come with standard Chevrolet MyLink radio with a 7-inch screen, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, while depending on the model, there’s a range of active safety features available, such as Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist and Forward Collision Alert. When you step up to the more well-appointed Cruze LS with the manual transmission, the price rises to $18,995 while the Cruze LS with the automatic transmission starts a grand higher, at $19,995.
The top-of-the-line 2016 Cruze Premier automatic is priced at $23,995, including shipping. The destination charge has increased $50 to $875.
Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder that produces 153 bhp (113 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque.
The Cruze’s base price is nearly $2,000 less than the 2016 Honda Civic LX of $19,475. That means the entry-level model undercuts many of its key competitors, including the 2016 Honda Civic sedan. That’s a fair bit cheaper than Honda’s most expensive Civic sedan, the $26,885 Touring model.
