Hillary Clinton, other Democratic bets refuse to use the term ‘radical Islam’
During the debate, moderator John Dickerson asked Hillary: “Marco Rubio, also running for president, said that the attack in Paris showed that we are at war with radical Islam”.
Sanders’ campaign, on the other hand, has argued that the tax increases are worth it because of that benefits they would lead to. “She’s put forward the strongest policies on Wall Street reform”, he said (while sporting an Equilibrium Capital-branded fleece). Sanders essentially said those firms expect a return on their investment, and he was exactly right. “At the same time, a lot will go back to when she was Secretary of State and the things she did while the Secretary that helped ISIS develop more in the middle east”.
The remark drew immediate reactions, ranging from confusion over the connection Clinton was trying to make and shock at the gall of using the attacks to save her from a tough critique. “Our agenda is the most progressive in terms of demanding that Wall Street, large corporations and the wealthy finally start paying their fair share of taxes”, he said.
Hilary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O’Malley each vowed the US would root out the terror groups behind the carnage.
Clinton came to Dallas for her community college event and a fundraiser hosted by Regina Montoya, senior vice president of Children’s Medical Center, and Paul Coggins, former United States attorney for the Northern District of Texas.
“The truth is Hillary Clinton and all of us in the Congress did everything that we could to try to rebuild NY City after that devastating attack”, Sander said.
During Saturday’s Democratic debate, candidates sparred aggressively over Clinton’s Wall Street support, with former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley calling her the “candidate of Wall Street”.
Riches said he’s a registered Democrat and has voted for Clinton’s party for most of his life – but he is “leaning the other way” this election, partly over her comments.
When then-U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., said during his 2004 bid for president that the goal of the war on terror was to get to the point where terrorists are “nuisances”.
Sanders’ campaign also questioned the reasons behind Clinton opposition to his Medicare-for-all plan, citing support she has received from pharmaceutical companies. “You know how we deal with that problem?”
Hillary Clinton, speaking on a debate stage in Iowa, said “it cannot be an American fight” and called on Turkey and the Gulf states to do more. The union’s efforts have been instrumental in getting higher minimum wages in Los Angles, New York, San Francisco and Seattle.
In the interview with Couric, Sanders continued to hit Clinton for her Wall Street financial connections and dismissed her 9/11 explanation.
