Chhota Rajan sent to 14 days judicial custody
Underworld don Chhota Rajan was on Thursday sent to 14 days judicial custody.
Sources said he will be kept in the high-security ward of Tihar’s jail number two.
CBI spokesperson said Rajan has been sent to 14-days of judicial custody as his 14-days of police custody in alleged fake passport case ended today.
According to an IANS report, the court hearing took place at the CBI headquarters in New Delhi under tight security where the don was presented after the expiry of his CBI custody. A highly placed source in the home department told The Indian Express, “Since Chhota Rajan’s deportation from Indonesia on November 6, it was clear that the CBI would look into the cases related to Rajan”.
The Maharashtra Government had transferred all cases related to the gangster to the CBI.
Rajan was arrested in Bali on October 25. Apart from Maharashtra, he has cases pending against him in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and with the CBI.
After he was brought to India, the Central Bureau of Investigation registered a case against Rajan and unknown public servants under the Passports Act, 1967 and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
