Land Rover launches Range Rover Evoque facelift at Rs. 47.1L

JaguarLand Rover India today launched a variant of its locally-assembled luxury SUV “Range Rover Evoque”, priced between Rs 47.1 Lakh and Rs 63.2 lakh, and said it expects to grow above the industry average this year. To put it another way, it is one of the quintessential douche mobiles. Nissan took a shot already with the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet, but it did not sell well and was discontinued previous year. In LA and Miami, perhaps.

The 2017 Range Rover Evoque Convertible will arrive in dealers in mid-2016.

Having first teased the public with candy-coloured wireframe sculptures, Land Rover has finally revealed the all-new Range Rover Evoque Convertible to the world in spectacular style. Leather upholstery, power front seats, a Meridian audio system and ambient lighting add charm to the cabin, which also includes the first application of Land Rover’s new InControl Touch Pro infotainment package.

The new Range Rover Evoque Convertible heads to showrooms in spring 2016. pricing details haven’t been announced. It gets the legendary Terrain Response system as standard and will be mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox that was introduced recently on the vehicle. The XE is an entry-level four-door sporty sedan created to appeal to millennial buyers. Chopping off the roof of an SUV makes one think how ugly the auto would look but somehow Land Rover has been able to do the complete opposite.

A Solihull-built Range Rover has been driven over an origami bridge made entirely of paper – with no nuts or glue to hold the structure together.

The global SUV market is forecast to grow by 20 per cent over the next five years* and Evoque Convertible will play a key role in continuing Range Rover’s 45-year success story, pioneering an all-new SUV sector.
