Giants’ Duffy finishes second in N.L. Rookie of Year voting
It didn’t take long for both to deliver.
On Monday, Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant and Astros shortstop Carlos Correa were named the 2015 Rookie of the Year award winners.
Correa, the top pick in the 2012 amateur draft, made his debut June 8 and hit.
“At times I kind of got labeled like I really didn’t care about playing just because I was so relaxed up there”, the Cubs’ freshman phenom said.
Correa accepted a contract slightly below the slotted amount for the top overall pick, which allowed the Astros to have extra bonus money to draft and sign Lance McCullers with the 41st pick overall. I think the only expectations that really matter are the ones you put on yourself.

Bryant received all 30 first-place votes (150 points) to become the sixth Cub to win Rookie of the Year, joining Billy Williams (1961), Ken Hubbs (1962), Jerome Walton (1989), Kerry Wood (1998) and Geovany Soto (2008). He received 13 first place votes and finished a very close second in the voting.
Correa beat out Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor and Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano. Posting a. 279 batting average, Correa’s mark ranked third among American League rookies while his.
In his first big league season, after nine seasons in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), Kang batted.287/.355/.461 with 15 home runs and 58 RBIs in 126 games.
