Jurgen Klopp says Daniel Sturridge could face Manchester City
The Reds travel to the Etihad Stadium to face City and it is still unclear whether they will have to worry about playing against the Argentine. I’ve not heard bad word about him. “He’s a good boy”.
Liverpool’s players were being put through their paces today by Jurgen Klopp and his team as the group were all reunited after a spell away on global duty for many of them. We have a good relationship with Peter and feel like he has achieved a good amount here at SKC but he has a good amount in front of him. I enjoyed our time together and we spoke about many things.
“If he wants to train, of course, he can, no question”. The Manchester City man is now hitting the target with almost two-thirds of his attempts, a major step up on a figure of 53 per cent last term.
Gerrard is expected to remain at LA Galaxy for one more season.
Klopp says the upcoming tests provide the opportunity for players to prove to him that they deserve to be part of his long-term plans.
We only had eight players here (during worldwide break).
“I do hope I can play in this game”, Aguero told the City website.
DANIEL STURRIDGE has declared himself “ready to go” after returning from his latest injury lay-off.
He said: “I don’t care about if they are the best team in the league – all I care about is if Liverpool are the best team in the league”.
“It’s hard one for me to talk about because I do feel like we’re in a good place”. We have to find the balance. Daniel Sturridge returned to training during the week but this game will probably come too soon for the ace striker.
The German boss has certainly been given a major boost by the news that Sturridge is nearing full fitness and could even be on track to return this weekend. He has trained with us. He is not 100 per cent. His qualities are outstanding. “I will decide tomorrow (Friday)”. He is a really good person, we enjoyed the time. “It won’t be Christmas 2016!”
Klopp wasn’t willing to think about whether Sturridge would be in the starting line up.
After months of speculations earlier, Sterling made a move to rivals City as the deal saw Liverpool cashing in.
The Premier League leaders drew a blank at Aston Villa prior to the worldwide break and welcome a Liverpool side also hoping to recover from a poor result, having lost 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace. Jurgen Klopp has come in and he’s a great addition to the Premier League.
