Facebook Adds Holiday Shopping Season Ad-Targeting Segment

Market Watch reports that as Black Friday grows nearer, Amazon has announced that it will kick off its deals much earlier than other online retailers.

On November 1, Amazon launched the first Black Friday event of the season, the Countdown to Black Friday Week, with their Black Friday Deals Store. The Gameplan starts with an online only sale from 12AM on Thanksgiving Day and from 6PM across its stores on Thanksgiving Night, November 26th.

As usual, there will be plenty of Lightning Deals on thousands of products throughout the one-week period, and Prime members will get early access to these deals, beating the line by a full 30 minutes before non-Prime shoppers can get their hands on them.

Black Friday Offers 2015:Black Friday 2015 announcements and leaks is finally in the books, but that doesn’t mean we’re done sharing the best deals on the Internet quite yet. Black Friday is expected to generate around $2.7 billion in online sales, a 13.8% increase over a year ago. The Acer tablets and Chromebooks will be 40% off through Amazon’s deals. Instead Amazon will have less dramatic deals, but still deals that will not get better next week on Thanksgiving and the actual Black Friday, November 27.

Those in the market for off-branded products can try the Hisense 40H4C 40-inch 1080p Roku Smart LED TV, which sells for $299.99 with free Prime shipping. Amazon will also be offering a Jawbone UP3 fitness tracker for $99 ($49.99 off), a Vizio 38-inch 2.1 home theater sound bar for $79.99, and Sonos PLAY:1 2-room starter set for $349 ($49 off).

For the premium Amazon Prime service, aside from the promotions and deals, Amazon will also add another service. Spokeswoman Nancy Dennis said Black Friday will be the biggest shopping day of Thanksgiving weekend, especially in Alabama where the Iron Bowl will temporarily interrupt sales on Small Business Saturday.

Amazon plans to roll out over 150 “hand-picked” Lightning Deals, but you’ll only be able to get them through the official Amazon shopping app through the “App Only Deals” section.

These deals can be found on the “App Only Deals” tab and will be released daily from 3pm PDT to 11pm PDT starting Thanksgiving through Wednesday, December 9.
