Lamborghini Huracán LP580-2 launched in India at Rs 2.99 crore
For Lamborghini fans who thought the brand had again strayed too far into the all-wheel-drive-only category, the supercar-maker has you covered.
Made its world debut this week at the LA Auto Show.
The biggest differentiator of this Huracan is the last digit of the LP580-2, which signifies that power is being sent only to the rear wheels. A 7-speed DCT gearbox is the only transmission option available. Thanks to the deletion of all-wheel-drive, the LP 580-2 is, as a result, lighter and stiffer than the regular Huracan – and slightly slower, with a 0- to 62-mph time of 3.4 seconds.
The rear-wheel drive Huracan features modified bumpers which gives it its unique character and helps us tell it apart from its four-wheel drive counterpart.
Five out of the ten cylinders in the V10 engine powering the Huracan LP580-2 are deactivated when full engine capacity is not required thus conserving fuel.
“We are delighted to be unveiling the Huracn LP 580-2 in India within just three days of its global launch”, Lamborghini India Head Pavan Shetty said.
No word yet on when the LP 580-2 will be coming to Australia, but the RWD supercar will arrive with a price tag of $378,900 plus on-roads, making it around $50k cheaper than the AWD Huracan.
