Alexis Sanchez to pen five-year Arsenal deal worth £40m
Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal are yet to open contract negotiations with star players Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil but that they will begin in earnest in 2016. So with the Gunners looking like we are closer to winning the Premier League title than we have been since the season of the invincibles over 10 years ago, Arteta knows that the manager must pick the team with the best chance of picking up all three points. At the time he had signed a four-year deal with the club, of which two and a half years were left prior to signing this new deal.
“We have not started to talk about that with Mesut”, clarified Wenger at his pre-West Brom press conference.
Since arriving for £33m from Barcelona last summer, Alexis has quickly shown himself to be one of the best players in the Premier League and he’s quickly developed himself into a crucial part of the Gunners set-up. “We are not in a hurry and we of course want them to stay”, Wenger was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
Following a busy summer in which he helped Chile to the Copa America tournament, Alexis started the season in slow fashion but the attacker has now returned to form – bagging 6 goals for the Gunners in 12 league outings.
“It will be big, big money they have to sign them for, but these are the times…it’s what Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea do, and they’ve got to compete”.
Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Gabriel Paulista, Hector Bellerin, Francis Coquelin and Nacho Monreal are a few of the regulars in the first team, and all of them are players of exceptional quality.
Arsene Wenger praised the entire football world with their solidarity and togetherness following the attacks in France.
“I will talk with him”.
England global Chambers looks a shadow of his former self right now, with his strong form following his 2014 move completely deserting him this season. “If not, I will not play him”.
