Marquette poll has Carson, Clinton, Feingold all leading respective races
Half of Republican-leaning adults surveyed said they favor continuing President Obama’s program to defer deportation for people brought to the country illegally as children, a program Rubio has said he would end.
“I know he don’t know everything, but he’s going to get the right man in there”, Phillips said.
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are the American voters’ best choices to deal with terrorism, according to a November 15-17 Reuters/Ipsos poll.
The surveys confirm the view that the race has boiled down to the final four: Trump, Carson, Rubio and Cruz. Trump is up at eight points in two weeks while Carson is down five; everyone else is more or less the same.
Donald Trump continues to hold a double-digit lead in the New Hampshire GOP presidential primary but it’s Sen.
Shapard says the most telling number is the 39 percent who say they’re undecided.
Although … what if the second part’s true too? Ted Cruz of Texas was next at 14 percent, followed by Sen.
But the G.O.P. establishment then was not in anywhere near the danger it is now.
Voters were split on the question of whether having political experience or being an outsider was the more important presidential quality: 49% stuck with experience, while 45% went with being a political outsider. New Hampshire is not hospitable terrain for him.
All of this creates a lot of danger for the party’s establishment. The move could either establish Kasich’s bone fides as a serious national candidate, or seal his demise, the way others attempting to take on Trump have suffered. And a Morning Consult poll released this week shows Trump at 38% and Carson at 19%. Earlier this fall, the Club for Growth, an influential conservative super PAC, attacked Trump over his past comments on economic policy, spending $1 million in Iowa that the group claimed helped deflate his numbers there.
Kasich says Trump, who can draw crowds and media because he has high name recognition, is all bombast and no experience. Instead, it appears that Trump’s populist appeal and show of strength, even aggression, hold significant appeal in times of fear and anxiety.
Which means … it’s Cruz who’s in the biggest trouble, right?
If establishmentarians want one of their own to win, they’d better switch to Marco Rubio.
“We will be the tip of the spear against Trump”, New Day’s Matt David told Politico.
The real estate billionaire and reality TV star drew the support of 22 percent of New Hampshire Republican voters who are likely to vote in the February 9 primary election. Rubio wants to sell himself as the most bad-ass (yet eloquent and thoughtful!) hawk in the field, but Trump’s bigfooting him in that role. And we feel that Gov. Kasich is the best person to do that given the fact that he is a sitting governor with a successful record that provides voters with a template of who he would be as president. Rubio’s support for a 2013 bill that would have provided a path to citizenship for millions now living in the US illegally has been an issue in the campaign.
