BBC Reporter Overcome by Emotion While Live in Paris
A BBC reporter was forced to end a live broadcast after he was overcome with emotion at the site of the Paris attacks. Although he tries hard to maintain a crisp and professional demeanor, Satchell becomes visibly flustered and his voice cracks while talking about the hope the city feels.
“Last night, it was incredibly busy. The Eiffel Tower was lit up in red, white and blue, which I think is a sign of hope”.
Satchell then looked to the ground and said “sorry, I’m so sorry” before trying to compose himself.
Mr Satchell walks off camera clearly distressed as the shot cuts back to the breakfast TV studio.
Social media was flooded with support and praise for the reporter.
“Don’t apologise for being human Graham, we’ve all been touched by the Paris Atrocities, you’ve seen more than most”, said one Twitter user.
Breakfast presenter Graham Satchell has thanked fans for their “kind tweets” after he broke down in tears on air.
After all, every story has a price attached to it.
A few found his emotion refreshing.
