ISIS releases video suggesting a potential attack on NYC
“Stoking fear is the goal of terrorist organizations, but NY City will not be intimidated”.
Police commissioner William Bratton said Thursday his boss had been late to acknowledge rising homelessness in NY City a day after the mayor announced an ambitious 15-year, $2.6 billion plan to combat the problem. “While a few of the video footage is not new, the video reaffirms the message that NY City remains a top terrorist target”, said the NY Police Department (NYPD) in a statement.
De Blasio said NY City’s police force of 35,000, the country’s largest, was working tirelessly to keep the city safe from another attack.
Wednesday, the terror group released a video warning of an impending attack on NY City.
Understanding that, the city places a great deal of importance on the safety of all New Yorkers and the more than 60 million people who visit the city each year. Officials noted there is no specific threat against any specific location in NY City, which since the 2001 terrorist attacks has developed extensive programs to investigate and respond to terrorist threats against the city.
Ray Corpuz from Wellington, New Zealand added, “You can’t help but to have fear, but we shouldn’t really be scared because if we are scared we are letting them win”.
“In NY we understand that we are a terrorist target”. The militant is seen holding a trigger and the video suddenly goes blank, reports said.
“It is a mishmash of previously released video. Offense, we want to be offense all the time, with our counterterrorism intelligence capabilities, defense, protecting facilities”, said Bratton.
