London tube station evacuated over security threat
Hundreds of commuters were spotted filtering out of Baker Street station this evening after the alarm was raised.
Earlier on Thursday two men were arrested at Manchester Airport on suspicion of making a bomb threat, prompting an easy Jet flight to be evacuated.
Photos and videos emerged from the scene showing police cars surrounding the area as dozens waited for news. Roads were reopened after London’s Metropolitan Police later declared it had been non-suspicious.
“There was an abandoned vehicle in Baker Street”.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman confirmed officers carried out a “controlled explosion” after being called to reports of an abandoned vehicle. The station has now re-opened.
London Underground passengers were left scared by a security alert at Aldgate Tube station in this morning’s rush hour.
The London Underground station was earlier evacuated due to the suspicious vehicle.
