Rockwell Automation Earns Top Marks in 2016 Corporate Equality Index

The same company that brings you the hydrogen fuel cell Mirai and the groundbreaking Prius received a ideal “100” on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality.

They were among 407 businesses that earned top marks in the list of 1,027 businesses.

“Florida Blue’s score reflects the focus we’ve placed on diversity within the workforce, which we know helps us better understand who we serve”, said Pat Geraghty, Chairman and CEO of Florida Blue. “While support for LGBT workers is growing in the US and around the world, too many companies still fail to guarantee basic, vital workplace protections that allow employees to bring their full selves to work. Engaged employees are a key ingredient for a business to be successful”.

Corporations were evaluated based on non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, demonstrated organizational competency and accountability around LGBT diversity and inclusion, public commitment to LGBT equality and responsible overall citizenship.

“In this 2016 Corporate Equality Index, hundreds of major businesses responded to our new standards for workplace equality with exceptional leadership”, said Deena Fidas, HRC Foundation Workplace Equality Program Director.

In alphabetical order, the following home retailers made the list of Best Places to Work for LGBT equality: Best Buy, Home Depot, J.C. Penney, Nordstrom, Office Depot, Replacements, Sears Holdings, Staples, Target Corp., TJX Companies and Walgreens.
