Tyra Banks “Scaling Back” On ‘FABLife’
‘This can be a very troublesome decision, still mandatory, ‘ she stated within the assertion.
Tyra Banks started her own ABC daytime talk show “FABLife” about two months ago, but the model already has plans to leave so she can focus more on her cosmetic career.
Banks said in a statement she will be devoting more time to her cosmetics company and other entertainment ventures. I will however continue to support the growth and success of “FABLife’ and greatly admire my fellow co-hosts and the talented production team behind the show”. Banks will remain as executive producer through December. “If you’ve seen it in daytime before, it won’t be on our show”.
Tyra Banks is done with daytime-again. But I’m available, just FYI. “[Lisa] knew that I did not want to do it by myself”, Banks said in August.
A rep for Banks noted that she maintains her relationship with Disney/ABC, where in addition to FABLife, she will be developing Life-Size 2 for the Disney Channel.
The announcement comes less than a month after the CW canceled Banks’ long-running “America’s Next Top Model” after 22 seasons.
At TCA Banks said “what’s hurting daytime is innovation”.
FABLife’s executive producers also include Shane Farley (The Rachael Ray Show). “We’re going to really be working it and doing it different”.
Banks is repped by WME.
