In the post titled “An Answer To Prayer”, Joey wrote: ‘At 4am on Friday morning we rushed Joey to the hospital in Muncie.
Joey Feek may be facing the end of her life, but she’s still finding time to smile.
Joey, one half of the country duo Joe + Rory with her husband, is in hospice care at her home in Alexandria, Indiana, with late-stage cervical cancer.
Just a day prior, Feek’s husband, Rory, shared a video featuring a then-pregnant Joey to celebrate IN turning 21 months on Wednesday, November 18.
“Her friends gathered around her on the couch and she told them of her hope that she might be able to still be here for Christmas, or for Indiana’s second birthday in February”, Rory writes.
“I was devastated, absolutely devastated when I heard it and what it meant and coming from the person who is leaving their loved one”, Joey Feek told The Boot during a 2012 interview.
‘Afterwards, when Indy got sleepy, Joey held her and sang In The Garden and other hymns as she softly stroked her silky-blonde hair. The twosome share a baby girl collectively, Indiana, & their Christmas wish is for Joey to see it by way of to their daughter’s 2nd birthday in February. “She wrote that song by herself and she wrote it about her mother who was dying”. Joey, her family, and her doctors thought she had beaten the disease.
