The random poll was conducted from November 12 to 15 by both landline and cell phone among 803 registered voters. Marco Rubio also received 13 percent to tie Carson for second place. The billionaire businessman has 26% support among Republican voters. “Trump’s greatest strength has always been what people think he can do”. He’s weathered four debates, various supposed “gaffes”, a Ben Carson surge, and now a major development on foreign policy and he’s still pretty reliably pulling 25 percent or so of likely voters in many polls. Rubio got higher marks on his ability to deal with Putin, while Cruz would be better at combating Islamic terrorism, voters said. What has changed, though, is that Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have begun to distance themselves from the rest of the field and close the gap on the two frontrunners.
Similarly, only 27 percent had a favorable opinion of Republican U.S. Sen. A full description of our methodology and the poll can be found here. Among Democrats, 76 percent correctly said the rate is lower.
♦ Sanders 47 percent, Carson 41 percent.
Rubio has the best score for honesty, with 58 percent of respondents saying he is honest and trustworthy, to 28 percent who believe he is not. Thirty-nine percent approved of the job they’re doing compared to 49 percent who disapprove.
The Fox poll mirrors the results of a poll released on Wednesday from WBUR-TV, where Trump also is in first with 23 percent.
On the Democratic side, the FAU poll projects that Clinton will trounce Vermont Sen.
It doesn’t seem to matter what Donald Trump does a solid group of core Republican supporters are still going to vote for him. That’s even better than the 64 percent recorded by House Speaker Paul Ryan and the 60 percent for 2012 nominee Mitt Romney. It’s the first time this poll has had any Republican defeating Clinton. Just 5 percent agreed with the GOP front-runner.
In the previous Marquette poll released in late September, Trump led with 20 percent, while Carson (16 percent) and Rubio (14 percent) trailed closely behind.
In New Hampshire on Friday, Carson said the USA should have a database on “every foreigner who comes into this country”, but he rejected the idea of tracking US citizens based on their religion.
Trumps stand on immigration has hit a note with potential Republican voters also like his stance on guns and now he has upped his game after the ISIS attack on Paris. Cruz came in third with 8 percent, followed by Bush with 7 percent.
Donald Trump continues to hold a double-digit lead in the New Hampshire GOP presidential primary but it’s Sen.
