Cavs C Mozgov out at least 10 days
He hasn’t looked quite right this season and perhaps the two weeks off will help his knee get healthy even if he’s dealing with another injury.
Mozgov suffered the injury in the Cavaliers’ 115-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without starting center Timofey Mozgov for around 2 weeks after injuring himself last night.
The team also said starting point guard Mo Williams will miss Saturday’s Eastern Conference finals rematch against the Hawks with a sore right ankle.
Mozgov is averaging 7.9 points and 4.6 rebounds a game for the Cavaliers, who own the best record in the East at 9-3. He is listed as OUT for tomorrow’s game at The Q against Atlanta and doubtful for Monday’s contest vs. Orlando, also at The Q. The 29-year-old had two points and 0 rebounds in 11 minutes before leaving. With Mozgov hurting, Tristan Thompson will take on a larger role, as will the rarely-used Anderson Varejao.
Matthew Dellavedova started for Williams against the Bucks and had a career-high 13 assists in 38 minutes.
Mozgov’s injury actually may be a blessing in disguise for the Cavs.
