Gionee Marathon M5 With 6020mAh Battery Launching in India on 24th November

While there is no word in Indian pricing, we’ll come to know on November 24 when Gionee officially launches the smartphone.

Expect the device to be priced quite higher than its predecessors.

The Gionee Marathon M5 isn’t a new device though, the phablet was first announced earlier this year, alongside the Elife E8. It has dual battery setup, each battery is of 3,010mAh. That is pretty much it, stay tuned if you’re interested in this launch, we’ll report back as soon as the phone gets unveiled in India.

Other specs of the smartphone include quad-core 1.3 GHz CPU, 5.5 inch (720 x 1280 pixels) AMOLED display, 2GB/16GB memory configuration, 5MP/13MP camera combo, and Android 5.1 Lollipop. The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6535 SoC along with a Mali-T720 GPU for graphics. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. It comes with 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card which can further be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. It hosts the usual set of connectivity features including dual-band LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Global Positioning System. The thickness is especially impressive when considering the fact that it packs two massive batteries inside. The company claims that the smartphone’s extreme mode enables it to deliver standby time of 62 hours with only 5% of charge. The battery is enough to survive upto 4 days. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on the device, along with Gionee’s software additions which are available as well.

Gionee Marathon M5 price in India will be around Rs. 20,000.

It seems like Gionee has started sending out invites for their November 24th event which will be held in Bengaluru.
