Mariah Carey Releases Trailer For A Christmas Melody

Mariah directed and starred in the Hallmark movie A Christmas Melody and it’s as festive as you possibly imagine.

Oh, and they all do a rendition of “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (Obviously).

Starring Lacey Chabert, Brennan Elliott and Kathy Najimy, the movie tells the story of Kristin (Chabert) a divorcee and clothing designer with a young daughter (newcomer Fina Strazza, a 10-year-old Broadway singing sensation). Now, as the first trailer for “A Christmas Melody” arrives, fans get their first peek at the chart-topping singer’s holiday surprise. She makes a major change in her life by leaving her Manhattan boutique to return to her small hometown in OH to live in her parents’ former home. That’s where she runs into her former high school rival Melissa (Mariah), who is president of the PTA.

Mariah is also already thinking about Christmas, especially in light of her new children’s book All I Want for Christmas Is You, a title based on her classic 1994 holiday song of the same name. “With a little holiday magic and music, Kristin and Emily find that home is where the heart is”.

While this sounds like it’s almost a parody of a Hallmark Channel movie, the film’s IMDb summary portrays a film that sounds a bit stranger and fantastical: A Christmas Melody is about “a gift of music transports people back to another time and place where they find their truest feelings”.

Aside from the TV movie, Carey will also be busy with her concert series at Beacon Theatre in NY City where she will perform on december 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, and 18. Tickets are now available on TicketMaster.
