Kerry to visit Israel
Israel was infuriated by the European Commission’s new set of guidelines on marking products made in seized territories in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Golan Heights. In this context, frustrated Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu also evolved a new theory of the Holocaust to get the sympathies of the US-led western entities by revealing, “Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews, he wanted to expel the Jews…a World War II-era Palestinian leader, the Mufti of Jerusalem, Nazi sympathizer, Haj Amin al-Husseini convinced Hitler to adopt their final solution to exterminate Jews”.
One can assume that Netanyahu meant that a government under his leadership and the security and enforcement agencies in all the territories under its control would not discriminate between Jews and Arabs.
The graphic shows the expansion of the Israeli state over time, as it consumed a greater and greater share of Palestinian land.
Speaking at a special press conference on Saturday, he said, “We are standing on the front lines [of the battle] against terrorism that is increasingly being transformed from Palestinian nationalistic terrorism to Islamic terrorism”. Israeli politicians have repeatedly called for the ban since the violence erupted in mid-September. While it is not the swamp that leads people to acts of violence but irrational hatred and incitement – alienation, poverty and a lack of horizons can only make those ideologies more attractive.
Police raided the Islamist group’s offices overnight Monday, seizing documents, computers and money in chapters across the country. And the forces of civilization, when they realize the severity of this problem, have no option but to unite very clearly and defeat these beasts.
Nonetheless, the Palestinian leader described the talks as the most serious negotiations since an interim peace accord was reached in 1993 under then-Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
Palestinian youths threw stones and firebombs while barricading themselves inside the mosque and Israeli police responded with stun grenades and tear gas.
Erdan’s statements reflects Israel’s propensity to obfuscate Palestinians’ political concerns under the rubric of terrorism, as well as this rhetorical move’s increasing currency the wake of ISIS’s attacks in Paris on Saturday.
Barakeh said Israel is “exploiting the situation in the region and the world to escalate its repressive and authoritarian attacks against the Arab people in the country”.
In fact, speaking earlier this month before the security cabinet, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief Yoram Cohen reportedly expressed opposition to the move, saying it would “do more harm than good”. The umbrella organization held an emergency meeting about the ban and called for a general strike later this week.
This is not the first such ban by Israel. The process of altering them can only begin once they are recognized for what they are: a potent obstacle to a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The settlement movement in Israel and extremist jihadist groups among the Palestinians wield far greater political influence than their numbers warrant, and thus far have succeeded to dash any prospect for peace, justifying their refusal to accommodate the other.
And, as Jewish presence has increased, so too has the Israeli government’s prosecution of the Morabitat – a group of women affiliated with the Northern Islamic Movement who protest Jewish tours and violations of the mosque’s status-quo.
Jews are allowed to visit, but not pray there to avoid provoking tensions. Police at times have blocked busloads of Islamic Movement supporters from Jerusalem.
Salah has had repeated run-ins with authorities and was previously imprisoned for funneling money to Hamas, which rules Gaza.
The highly sensitive Al-Aqsa compound, the third-holiest site in Islam after the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, has been the focus of the northern branch’s anger.
Israel says the wave of violence is the result of incitement from Palestinian leaders.
Previous deadly days have seen eight Palestinians killed, mainly in clashes with Israeli troops on the Gaza border. The accusations, which Israel denies, have been at the heart of the recent unrest.
