No Chelsea clean-out in January: Mourinho
“We have to make it as hard as we can for them and try to implement our style on the game, to test them and see how they respond”.
“It was a fantastic vehicle for showing solidarity and what the game of football can do, and I think this weekend would be exactly the same”. They know they are playing more than okay, individually and collectively, and the results have to come. “We feel that we have the right manager to make that happen, a manager who has delivered so much”. We can sit down and look at it then.
But top clubs are always moving forward, which explains why a team like Barcelona, who won the treble last season and were hit with a transfer embargo, still made a decision to invest in Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal.
“And after winning our last game against Swansea we will go there with a lot of optimism, even though it’s going to be a tough ask”.
“We have those [leaders] in the team. You have someone like Cesar Azpilicueta, he is a natural leader”. Either side of him, though, should be Eden Hazard and Pedro.
Other than West Ham – whose victories against Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea earned them the prime position on the main Saturday night highlights show on three occasions – no other top-flight club have been shown first more than twice.
Mourinho will still be without the services of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, although the Belgian is nearing his return from knee surgery. However, his career at United hasn’t really taken off, with the Dutchman scoring just one goal in eight league appearances, and only one in the Champions League too. We are in an age of fast technology, everybody can voice an opinion, and people have a fast-food mentality and want fast-food results. In late January 2002, he joined Porto Football club. On 19 April 2014, Mourinho suffered his first ever home league defeat as Chelsea manager in a 2-1 loss to Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea fans have supported Jose all the way and now they will be hoping to start seeing flashes of last season’s team. Also, we deserve, I deserve and the players deserve. Nobody gives a four-year contract if they don’t trust the person. If I ask for players, or if the clubs give me a handful of players, it’s like taking the responsibility out of us and saying we need extra to reach our objectives. “Now you have six teams in England who can potentially compete with you, and others outside England who can potentially do the same”. The FA Cup is starting for us. Although no honest Blues fan needs to be reacquainted with such a notion in the cold light of day, something is going seriously wrong at Stamford Bridge at the minute, and few have ultimately been able to place their finger on the direct cause of their dramatic downturn.
We may only be 12 games into the 2015/16 Premier League season, but it has already been a campaign with lots of action and goals aplenty. “It might actually destabilise the squad”.
“I’m happy with my players, I trust my players”, he added.
