Holm: I don’t wish any hate on Rousey
A guy or girl is going to take a break or go away, or has an injury that they have to tend to, whatever the reasons are, and they’re a champion – you take the championship off of them.
Rousey says that she will be back and yesterday posted on Instagram: “I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support”.
Rousey is still a more known commodity, and she has dominated everyone who stepped in the octagon with her before Holm which may be why bettors are still favoring her in a rematch.
Still reeling from her defeat to unseeded Holly Holm at UFC 193, Ronda Rousey was caught off guard once again by a couple of sucker punches from two unexpected heavyweights on Sunday. “Take the belt off her!” She’ll be okay. You know, but I’m waiting for the comeback of Jon Jones and the other guy that Jon Jones faced before [Daniel Cormier]. “I’d take that I did it dominantly, but that doesn’t mean that I wish harm or any hate on her”, yhe 34-year-old champ said. He cited her accolades in boxing and the fact that she defeated Rousey, who Jones called “the greatest female mixed martial arts fighter to date”. Ronda Rousey did it better than anybody’s ever done it. The amount of work and the time she put in, how hard she trained, the things that she would do. It’s just like boxing; you win a few, you lose a few.
Rousey said at the time, “I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once. It’s all about timing and inches”. “I’d like to see you pretend to not know who I am now”.
Floyd Mayweather has now offered his boxing expertise to fallen UFC champion Ronda Rousey, despite their contentious history. “So, I have a lot of respect for her”.
The higher the pedestal, the further the fall, but the person that ended Rousey’s reign doesn’t think the negativity expressed toward the former champion is warranted.
