Bronx Woman Fatally Stabbed, Baby Ripped from Her Womb

A local lawmaker said the woman’s baby survived the attack, but has been hospitalized.

Police were called to Bronx apartment on Friday afternoon after a call of an argument that turned physical.

The woman, who had been repeatedly stabbed in the torso, was taken to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, where she died.

On the first floor of the building, they discovered a woman who was laying unconscious, after having been strangled and stabbed multiple times in the neck and stomach.

A 22-year-old suspect was taken into custody.

It remains unclear how Sutton and Wade knew each other.

“It looks like the baby was surgically removed”, Bronx councilman Andy King said outside the house of the gruesome scene.

Police said further details would be released after the Medical Examiner performs an autopsy on the victim.

“I am very disturbed”, King said.

Witness Diana Rivera told The NY Daily News that she saw the victim being brought out of the home on a stretcher.

Wade then performed a crude Cesarean section on Sutton as she lay dying or already dead, and ripped an infant girl from her womb, sources said.

The victim, later identified as 22-year old Angelikque Sutton, appeared to have been around 8 and a half months pregnant, and there was also a newborn baby in another room.
