Justin Bieber storms UK charts to equal John Lennon’s 1981 feat
Over on the Official Albums Chart, One Direction have scored the fastest-selling album of the year, and a fourth number one, with Made In The AM.
The singer’s new album “Purpose” breaks the Spotify record for most streams in one week.
Bieber now has 15 songs in Spotify’s Global Top 50 chart (led by new single Sorry at No. 1), while One Direction has nine (the highest-charting, Drag Me Down, is at No. 9).
Their first record as a four piece is the fastest-selling album of the year.
After playing second fiddle to Adele’s Hello for the last three weeks, Justin shifted an impressive 104,000 combined chart sales to claim this week’s top spot – including a massive 5.35 million streams.
Adele’s “25” – which came out today (November 20) – is also widely expected to sell in huge volumes in its first week.
Every track from his current album goal also charted inside the top 100, while eight cracked the top 40.
The Canadian singer’s singles “Sorry“, “Love yourself” and “What do you mean” took first, third and fifth place.

Sadly, after three long weeks at the top, Adele has had a slight fall from grace as “Hello” has slipped to number 2, whilst Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” is at the top of the chart, according to the Official Charts Company.
Former United Kingdom number one album If I Can Dream by Elvis Presley was in third place this week, while Alone in the Universe by Jeff Lynne’s ELO entered the chart at four.
