Jenna Coleman’s Last Episode With the Doctor Is
So will Clara die in “Face The Raven”?
Peter Capaldi has confirmed that Jenna Coleman will exit her role as Clara in this weekend’s Doctor Who episode. With a death sentence hanging over their heads, not all of the intruders will get out alive.
The Doctor and Clara, with their old friend Rigsy, find themselves in a magical alien world, hidden on a street in the heart of London.
The 12th and current Doctor Who is now in town for the Doctor Who Festival, as the 9th season of the revived series comes to a close.
The 18-year-old actress is best known for playing Arya Stark in the HBO epic saga and will make another appearance in Saturday’s episode of Doctor Who in which Peter – who has played the Doctor since 2014 – hinted Clara will be leaving.
Coleman quit the series to take the role of Queen Victoria in a new ITV drama. Its worth noting that Clara had previously been said to appear in the Season 9 finale Hell Bent. However, its possible that these were either intentional misdirects or Coleman will be appearing as Clara who is a hallucination/vision rather than the real deal. Peter Capaldi confirmed that Saturdays episode Face the Raven will be Claras last episode, and while speaking with Metro, he stated her departure wont be a happy affair: In his words: Its a sad one, gripping and very unusual. If this is the end, what is her legacy? I don’t want to go into the details of it, but it’s sad’.
He also remained non-committal when asking if the character could return, saying: ‘Sometimes people can’t come back.
“You can’t handle things too much because they’ll fall to pieces”, he said.
And Capaldi, who plays the Doctor, will discuss the episode on the Graham Norton Show tomorrow night.
American fans can watch Episode 10 of Doctor Who Season 9 live on BBC America at 9 p.m. EST, while British fans can see it at 8:10 p.m. local time on BBC One.
