Pakistan vs England 2nd ODI Cricket Streaming
Pakistan batsman Younis Khan insists that it is the right time to retire having played his final ODI game in the six-wicket win England.
Defending just 216 all out, they were put to the sword by Mohammad Hafeez’s brilliant 127-ball hundred and Morgan said: “It wasn’t a crash, bang, wallop type of pitch and we worked that out pretty quickly”.
Pakistan batsman Younis Khan announced his retirement from one-day cricket, on Wednesday, 15 years after making his debut against Sri Lanka in Karachi in February 2000. In all he hit four sixes and two fours in his run-a-ball knock. David Willey went for a few runs and England will be hoping the he pulls up the socks.
He began his second spell with Pakistan 136-4, needing 81 from 126 balls, but despite bowling three more tidy overs he could not prevent the “home” side reaching their target with 38 deliveries to spare.
It was Muhammad Irfan and Anwar Ali who caused serious damage to England batting line up in early part of the innings.
Morgan, unfazed by the early damage, continued to play positively as he crunched 11 fours during his innings, his 29th fifty in ODIs, and eighth in his last 11 games, while Taylor brought up his own half century with the second of two glorious straight sixes down the ground.
During his century partnership with Taylor, Morgan was beginning to work out what a winning total might be.
Hafeez’s 102 from 130 balls nearly entirely ruined England’s already slim chance of victory, until Azam’s run a ball 62 took the game well and truly away from them.
“Younis has been a great servant of Pakistan cricket and he has achieved a lot but the circumstances in which he has announced his retirement today is a bad reflection on Pakistan cricket affairs”, Miandad said.
“He showed, despite losing his run-up a couple of times, he got the ball up and swung it and took wickets”, Farbrace said.
Malik removed Taylor in his next over while leg-spinner Yasir Shah chipped in with the wicket of Moeen Ali for seven.
Farbrace admitted England could look to boost their seam attack, but they are likely to stick with Adil Rashid despite figures of 0-60 from nine overs. I pushed myself, I pushed the selectors, I pushed everyone back in Pakistan that Younis Khan is still capable to play one-day cricket for his country.
Ahmed Shehzad is likely to replace him with the all-rounder Bilal Asif moving down the order after his unsuccessful move to the opening berth in the first ODI.
