Little Mix praise ‘horrendous’ looks
Little Mix want to make their own “Spice World”-inspired movie””.
The girls – Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall – were forced to reveal them a day earlier than they planned after someone else leaked the title and cover over social media. Makers said Perrie, from South Shields, was the trickiest to create in ice cube form.
The girls were speaking to Newsbeat before their Island Beats gig at Thorpe Park.
Sculptor, Jo Daignault and her team of five worked their Black Magic to create the micro-sculptures – with more than 50 hours dedicated to each one, which measures just 30mm wide by 40mm tall.
The covers for the standard and deluxe editions of “Get Weird” don’t really differ much other than the fact the colors in the font are different and the different poses the girls are striking. “Finally we test each portrait to ensure it can absorb and reflect light”.
“When analysing each of the portraits before starting, we found Perrie the easiest to recreate due to her clear line of symmetry and strong features. The personalisation also proved fiddly, Jade’s bow took 5 hours to get right and Jesy’s Cleopatra-shaped eyes needed 5 drafts before we perfected them”.
She said: “The rollercoasters are incredible”.
I’m so excited! I hope you all love it!
And the former X Factor winners have even more to celebrate: Little Mix are nominated for Choice worldwide Artist, Choice Music Breakout Artist, Choice Summer Music Star: Group and Choice Music Group: Female at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards, which will air August 16 on FOX.
