Paris terror attacks: Isil jihadists ‘targeting Salah Abdeslam for not
It follows yesterday’s dramatic raids in Paris which saw two terrorists killed.
Mr Valls was addressing the French parliament to expand the state of emergency.
“What’s new will be the methods for managing; the methods for attacking and killing are evolving on a regular basis”, the prime minister said. “The macabre imagination of the masterminds is limitless”, the Associated Press reported.
He told MPs that “terrorism hit France, not because of what it is doing in Iraq and Syria… but for what it is”.
He is believed to have rented the VW Golf found abandoned and containing several AK-47 rifles near the Bataclan theatre, and dropped his suicide-bomber brother Ibrahim outside the Comptoir Voltaire bar. The operations are linked to Bilal Hadfi, who detonated an explosive device last Friday night.
According to Molins, the raid was carried out following a tip-off the French police received on Monday indicating the presence of Abaaoud in France. So far is not yet known when he returned to Europe.
Salah’s brother Brahim who’s also believed to have been behind the terrace shootings, blew himself up at the Comptoir Voltaire on Friday night but the subsequent actions of the missing Salah has lead investigators to believe that he may have made a decision to flee rather than blow himself up.
That means a huge and highly visible deployment of uniformed troops and police officers alongside a battery of more subtle measures, such as the curtailment of a few public gatherings and of school trips to museums, galleries and other public places that might be targeted.
