Xiaomi teases a metal Mi Pad 2 tablet
Xioami might be coming up with their first smartwatch, and it is alleged to be announced alongside the Redmi Note 2 Pro, which is scheduled to launch on November 24th. The sleek Mi Pad 2 will star at the event as well, as Xiaomi CEO Lin Bin posted an exciting teaser image.
The teaser of the new Mi Pad 2 offers a glimpse of the sides of the new tablet which has the power and volume buttons located precisely on the side.
Reports say that the slab will come in a 7.9-inch display but it is keeping the 2,048 x 1,536 pixel resolution of the original Mi Pad. Just recently, he shared a photo of an all-metal, ultra-thin device believed to be the long-rumored tablet, providing insight into what users are in for with the new iteration of the Xiaomi Mi Pad. The teaser shows a circular camera lens at the back followed by a dual-tone flash below and a circular fingerprint sensor placed below it. It also showed the metal-clad smartphone in Gold colour version. At a few point, sources claimed that Windows 10 will be pre-installed to Mi Pad 2, but updated info shows that Android will provide the tablet’s OS.
The specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 remain unconfirmed for now, but it should all become clear on November 24. It is powered by the Snapdragon 801 chipset with a quad-core 2.5GHz processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16/64GB built-in storage.
Xiaomi President Lin Bin has been using Weibo to preview the device. The smartphone will also include a 13MP rear snapper and 5MP front-facing camera.
