Bomb Threats at Pascagoula and Gautier Schools
A pair of bomb threats forced the evacuation of two schools in the Pascagoula-Gautier district Friday – the second and third threats this week for that district and the fifth and sixth in the past eight days on the Coast.
Two Ocean Springs High School students are facing charges for allegedly calling in a bomb threat to Ocean Springs Middle School on Monday. This is a trend that has left students fed up.
Rodolfich said he had never experienced a spate of threats like this. “There’s no reason for it”. Three juveniles are in custody for the threats at Ocean Springs Middle and D’iberville High but at least four other culprits remain anonymous.
“We have a protocol we follow”, Rodolfich said.
Local law agencies responded and are working to clear the building. Authorities say they will continue to treat each and every threat just as seriously as the last.
At about 9:20 a.m., a threat was phoned in to Dalton High School, according to a news release from the Dalton Police Department. They did not find anything and declared it safe for students to return.
Lincoln High School Principal Valerie Fox sent a message to parents letting them know about the threat, which she says came in before most staff and students were present.
