Wolves have any chance against Steph Curry and the flawless Warriors?
Curry blew up for 21 of his team’s 40 points in the first quarter and had 11 points in the fourth quarter to seal it.
The Golden State Warriors took care of the Minnesota Timberwolves 129-116 thanks to another insane shooting performance from Stephen Curry with 46 points (15-for-25, 8-of-13 on three-pointers).
“He was decent tonight. He was OK”, Warriors interim coach Luke Walton said with a smile.
“He’s just so risky”. At any time, he can go on a 6-0, 8-0 run just off of transition and getting a steal and putting it up for three. He’s always in an attack mode.
Looking for their 10th straight victory in the league, the Golden State Warriors travel to the Target Center where the Minnesota Timberwolves await them in this big National Basketball Association clash. They can break that mark set by the 1960-61 Philadelphia Warriors in Minneapolis. It’s a long season and it’s only November, but all the numbers from last season and this one say it’s not just a good month for Curry or the Warriors. “When April comes around we hope to be best versions of ourselves and ready to go”.
Andrew Wiggins led Minnesota with 19 points, Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and reserve forward Shabazz Muhammad added 16 points in 19 minutes. The Timberwolves are still looking for their first home win (0-3) after dropping a 104-95 decision to the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday.
Curry poured in 28 points and racked up five assists, five rebounds and five rebounds to lead the Warriors to a 100-84 win against the Memphis Grizzlies.
On Thursday, the Wolves started slowly, trailing by much as 16 points in the first quarter when Golden State opened shooting 60 percent from the field.
According to ESPN Stats and Info, the reigning MVP became the first Golden State player with three 40-point games in the team’s opening 10 games of the season since Rick Barry did so during the 1974-75 campaign.
I love what Kenny Smith said about him after the game on TNT: “He’s like Michael Jordan without the dunks”. “When you let your foot off the gas pedal, when you get into a funk and then not play like ourselves for a couple of games, you don’t know what’s going to happen”.
That said, this won’t be confused with one of Warriors’ better games; they committed 23 turnovers.
Memphis tried to stay close in the fourth, but consecutive 3-pointers from Thompson and Green stretched the Golden State lead back to 86-71 with 6:29 left. He doesn’t want the Warriors to get distracted by the mindset of chasing the Bulls’ record instead of focusing on the present. While a win was unlikely, seeing a team fight and be competitive against the best team in the league is all anyone could have asked for.
All five Warriors starters finished in double figures. “I know it is for us when a guy gets hot on the other side”.
