Telsa is recalling 90,000 Model S cars in response to a complaint on its front seat belt. However it is a cool looking vehicle with a look from the future and it may be offering the wing doors of the Model X.
The 2017 Tesla Model S is an all-electric luxury sedan which is an alternative to the Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt, both of which are cheaper. A customer in Europe alerted Tesla a few two weeks ago on the issue of seat belt and sought to inspect 3,000 vehicles and the assembly process involved.
Tesla owners are being asked to schedule a visit to a Tesla service center for an inspection. Tesla may send mobile teams to customers who are far from a service center.
Tesla has recalled the Model S several times before. Most recently, in January 2014, it updated a few cars’ software to prevent connector adapters from overheating while the vehicle is charging. But this is Tesla’s largest recall to date. Tesla shares fell $6.09, or 2.8 percent, to $215.71 following the announcement.
