Aaron Rodgers is probable for Sunday’s game at Minnesota

The Green Bay Packers are now on a three-game losing streak and had another trouble this week as franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers found himself on the injury report for the first time this season due to a right shoulder injury.

That’s not to say that Rodgers’ shoulder issue is anything to fret about – he seems on track to play Sunday in a huge division game against the Vikings. Rodgers, who missed the tie in 2013 because of a broken collarbone, has been as responsible for this recent run as anyone.

Even with the Packers and Aaron Rodgers in a three-game funk, Green Bay obviously still has the significant edge at quarterback. There’s no disputing that his impeccable accuracy has not quite been the same.

The Vikings, though, remain respectfully wary. I was thinking about putting Blair Walsh here, but he had made 17 straight field goals before missing the two on Sunday that looked like they might’ve been partially blocked.

“Their organization is one of the top organizations in sports”, Zimmer said, “and honestly we’re just trying to get in the mix with these guys. We’ll keep trying to get Trae in there when we can”.

Minnesota now leads the NFC North with a 7-2 record. He had 1322 yards in the final eight games of the season, 1,140 yards in the final seven. Palmer ranks second in the National Football League in passer rating (108), with Cincinnati’s Andy Dalton, who has started every game for the Bengals since Palmer left, ranking fourth (104.6). The Vikings hope to counter Rodgers with NFL leading rusher Adrian Peterson, the league’s No. 2 scoring defense and favorable field position. Four times, he has topped 150 yards.

“I don’t think (game manager) is what he is”, Zimmer said. This year, Lacy has been injured and ineffective. But the Pro Bowl back is probable for Sunday and expected to work in a platoon with recently elevated starter James Starks. While Rodgers has thrown six touchdowns and only one interception in Green Bay’s three straight losses, he is completing just 56.5 percent of his passes during that span. Is that due to injury? His previous high was 48.

McCarthy on Thursday echoed the assessment of his quarterback, saying he has “no concern” about Rodgers’ availability for Sunday’s game. Their sustained offensive drives, stingy defense, and solid special teams have keyed their success this season.

Rodgers’ placement on the injury report is his first of the season, but it didn’t stop him from throwing during the walk-through portion of practice open to the media, which he wouldn’t be doing if his injury were serious.

Now for the bad news: Minnesota has really been struggling lately in the passing game.

The Lions will have the luxury of being at home during a short week before playing Philadelphia in their annual Thanksgiving game and hosting Green Bay a week later.
