Deer Gun Hunting Season Begins November 30
Wisconsin’s hunters will be in the woods this Saturday for the nine day season and according to state wild life officials it should be a good deer hunting year for those heading out. This year’s season starts on Saturday and a new rule change is changing the tradition a bit.
The entire process can now be completed over the phone or internet.
“Hunters are seeing more deer this year as we continue to build deer populations across much of the state”, said Steve Merchant, wildlife populations and regulations program manager. And she says better weather this year should make for more hunters.
Hunters can register online at gamereg.wi.gov or call 1-844-426-3734.
At one point Friday the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports it was selling more than 170 hunting licenses every minute.
Preliminary gun deer harvest information will be summarized by both county and management zone, and will be updated regularly from November 21 to November 30. He says deer are abundant outside of northern Wisconsin.
Junior Antlerless Carcass Tags may only be filled by the youth to whom they are issued, and may not be filled by another member of the hunting party.
