CDC and state and local public health partners are continuing laboratory surveillance to identify additional ill persons and to interview them.

The total number of cases is now 45 across six states, with 16 people hospitalized.

The company said that it’s taking aggressive steps to “make sure its restaurants are as safe as possible”.

Following the news, Chipotle stock took a massive U-turn and plummeted more than 12%, marking it as lowest shares since last June.
